Melissa tries to wake Eric when he begins having a nightmare, and Eric
begins gripping Melissa to the point it hurts her. He wakes up, but refuses
to tell Melissa about his dream. The two argue, and he refuses to seek help.
When Melissa pulls away as Eric kisses her, Eric leaves his apartment
angrily.
Monica arrives for dinner, and Melody greets her at the door. She tells
Melody that her ex-husband Eric has been ignoring their daughter Vicki, and
Melody asks why Monica and Nigel aren't trying to have kids together. Monica
gives Melody the impression that children are in their future. Angela comes
in and begins bashing Eric, which Monica and Melody don't like.
A.J. and Patricia hide as two men enter the warehouse, and from the mens'
conversation, A.J. doesn't believe they are the ones A.J. and Patricia are
supposed to be meeting there. When the men start to leave, Patricia yells
out at them, to A.J.'s shock. A.J. and Patricia pretend they know what they
are doing, and it turns out that the men think they are there to pick up a
cocaine shipment. A.J. manages to get the men to believe he has the money in
the car, but the actual drug dealer shows up--and the men realize they have
been duped.
Danny stops Dana from going to Gloria and Zachary's table; he wants to
finish the conversation he'd had with her. Gloria and Zachary leave their
table, seeing Dana and Danny together. Zachary decides to go over to Dana
and Danny, recalling that Dana doesn't like Danny.
Covington Bay--Episode 24
Gloria is stunned when Mama J. assumes she and Zachary on a date. Gloria denies it, but Mama J. says everything she's seen between them shows her they're on a date. Later, Gloria is in the bathroom and Dana corners her, wanting to discuss Zachary.
Dana wants to get away from Danny, but he claims to have something important to tell her. He gets a little rough and Zachary interferes. Dana tries to get Zachary to leave, afraid Danny might spill the beans about their marriage, but Zachary insists on talking to Danny alone. Zachary tries to get Danny to see that Nathan has all kinds of help behind him and that it'll turn out all right. Danny isn't buying it. Then Eric comes up and torments Danny with the reminder that he had arrested Nathan, just like he had arrested Danny himself.
Melody tells Hillary about A.J.'s marriage to Patricia. Hillary asks Melody if she can forgive A.J. and try to get things back on track. Melody wishes she could, but doesn't know if that's possible.
The dealers find out A.J. and Patricia are reporters and try to kill them. A.J. tries to escape with Patricia and they are shot at. As they hide in the warehouse, wondering what to do, Patricia is horrified to discover that A.J. has been shot.
Covington Bay--Episode 25
Melody continues to discuss her troubled love life with Hillary, but Angela interrupts with the news that she has been promoted to the homicide department and is the first woman to receive such a position. Angela is excited, but her sisters worry that Angela might run into Eric and given her disdain for him, it could make working difficult. But, Angela contends she won't let her feelings for Eric get in the way of her doing her job.
Eric taunts Danny and goads him into taking a swing at him. After the punch, Eric wants to arrest Danny and Dana agrees. However, with Gloria and Zachary's intervention, Eric changes his mind and leaves (at the insistence of Mama J., who'd banned Eric from her place for starting fights). Gloria is embarrassed and it's the end of she and Zachary's date. Eric later turns up at Dana to tell her the bad news about Pete and Lizzie. Pete was Dana's brother.
Before this, Dana was all set to read Gloria the riot act where Zachary was concerned, but Gloria first tells Dana that Zachary is very interested in her and is looking forward to their date. Realizing she may have been wrong about something being between Zach and Gloria, she keeps her original words to herself.
Patricia is horrified that A.J. has been shot and is more stunned when he insists she leave without him and get help. She refuses and he is just about to convince her when Reilly and the attackers show up. They tie them up, place the building on fire and leave. As flames eat at the building, Patricia wants to try to escape, but A.J. passes out.
Covington Bay--Episode 26
Nikki is trying to reach Richie on the phone, but his line is busy. She later talks to Kevin, who expresses his concerns about Richie because of his earlier conversation with him. Kevin thinks Richie may be hiding something about the murder, especially after learning A.J. has the same suspicions. But Nikki refuses to believe any of it and thinks Kevin and A.J. are wrong. Meanwhile, Richie is on the phone talking to someone about how they can convict James of the murder and hide their own role in the death.
Eric tells Dana that the investigation into Pete and Lizzie's death has been closed. Still, Eric vows to keep probing into it. Dana is skeptical of Eric's promises since he promised to be there for Timothy, Pete and Lizzie's son. Eric makes excuses for his actions, but still promises to solve the murder. It is revealed that Eric and Dana had a brief affair after Pete and Lizzie's deaths.
Danny apologizes for his attack on Eric, but Mama J. is still angry about it. She warns Danny not to get into any trouble trying to help Nate and Danny promises he won't. Danny can't forget his problems and expresses a intense dislike for white people.
A.J. revives and he and Patricia escape the fire. A.J. wonders how this plays into Nathan James' death.
Covington Bay--Episode 27
Sabrina is troubled by the situation with Nathan and wonders what her next step should be in investigating Jerry Nyland. At any rate, she decides to put Lucas on the case. Her evening is made better by the presence of her husband, David. But, the evening comes to an end when David, a minister, is called to help a parishioner whose two sons have been attacked. One was murdered, the other savagely beaten.
Nikki is still trying to get a hold of Richie, but her attempts are interrupted by her mother, Pamela, who knows that Nikki played hooky to go to the trial. Nikki tries to explain her way out of it, but Pamela, who warned Nikki to stay out of the situation with Nathan, won’t hear any of it. She grounds Nikki until the trial is over; the teen can’t go anywhere but school until there is a verdict. Nikki tries to get her mother to change her mind, but Pamela won’t. The situation worsens when James calls to set up an meeting with Nikki so they can discuss Nikki’s claim that Richie and Nathan want to frame James for murder. Nikki agrees to do it, and she and James plan to meet on the Greyhawk yacht, which is out of the way where they can’t be discovered. Nikki wonders how she’s going to be able to make that meeting.
Patricia calls Michael to let him know about the incident at the warehouse and that she’s fine. Michael wants Patricia to call their parents, but Patricia won’t hear of it and hangs up.
A.J. is fine, the bullet grazed him, so he suffered no serious injury. The hospital would like him to stay overnight, but A.J. declines. Patricia is pleased he’s all right, but her joy turns to anger when A.J. attacks her and blames her for what happened to them. A.J. says it was Patricia’s lack of experience that nearly got them killed. The bickering turns quite nasty and A.J. says some cruel things. Patricia vows to make A.J. pay for what he says to her.
Zachary is at the hospital, dealing with a patient emergency, and encounters A.J. after hearing about his night of adventure. Zachary wants A.J. to call Gloria immediately and tell her what occurred, rather than her finding out some other way like the morning papers. A.J. doesn’t want to wake his mother with such news and promises to visit her early in the morning and tell her what happened himself. Zachary doesn’t like the idea, but agrees to it.
A.J. and Patricia are about to leave the hospital when Jake shows up. He wants to discuss things further with them, but the reporters are tired and want to go home. However, Jake tells them if they don’t, they may not live through the night.
Covington Bay--Episode 28
Nigel has had trouble sleeping because he’s debating whether he and Monica should have a child. Monica tries to tell him that it would be a wonderful idea, but Nigel’s still not so sure. He wants to spend more time thinking on it. Later, Nigel has a talk with his father, Quentin, who is eager for Nigel to have a child and give him a grandson.
Kevin is preparing for the visitors who will come to Alec’s memorial. Melissa arrives and Kevin tells her that he wants A.J. to be there. It is then that Melissa tells Kevin that about the incident at the warehouse and that A.J. is probably at the police station with Jake. Kevin is naturally worried for his cousin and tells Melissa A.J. is like a brother to him. Later, Kevin gets flowers from Gary.
Barton is angry that Kevin is taking the day off (for Alec’s memorial) and that he can’t meet with any of the people Kevin was supposed to see that day. Things get worse when he and Natalie discuss the fact that they’re not seeing each other often lately with Barton being busy at LP and Natalie preparing to enter a surgical nurses program. Barton worries how it will affect the marriage. Natalie says it won’t since they’re only doing what many two career couples are doing. Barton feels Natalie doesn’t need to work, but she knows that’s only because he wants her to start having children. Natalie insists she’s not ready and says that Barton isn’t either. Barton reminds Natalie he has already raised two children. Natalie says she knows that and that is her point. Natalie and Barton are unaware that Kevin, who was passing by the bedroom and heard then discussing children, is eavesdropping on their conversation.
Back at the Greyhawks, Quentin tells Nigel he’s enacted a plan to get revenge on the Lassiters. Nigel isn’t too happy to hear that. He doesn’t want the family feud revived, mostly for Monica and Vicki’s sake. Quentin says he cares about Nigel’s wife and stepdaughter and will do everything he can to see they don’t get hurt. Nigel wants to know what the plan is and Quentin is about to spill all when Lucas walks in announcing his return to Covington Bay. The three men, who are quite close, are glad to see Lucas had returned. Lucas is especially glad to hear that Quentin has a plan to cause the Lassiter’s trouble. It delights him even more to know that A.J. is the primary target.
At the police station, where A.J. and Patricia have been all night, the reporters learn that the two men Reilly Jenkins and Joe Slade are employees of Victor Markham, the local crime boss. Furthermore, the third man at the scene that night, Raymond Cane, was found dead a few blocks away from the warehouse. Jake thinks Reilly and Slade killed Cane to cover their butts and since A.J. and Patricia lived they could be next on the list.
Covington Bay--Episode 29
Gloria is enjoying a good morning and she and Melody talk about what a good time Gloria had with Zachary at Mama J.’s. Zachary arrives and after Melody leaves, he suggests they got out again soon. Gloria doesn’t think that’s a good idea, and urges Zachary to date and find a woman to love, instead of hanging out with someone he sees as a mother figure, reminding him he broke a date with Dana to go out with her. Zachary says he hardly sees Gloria as a mother figure, but as a beautiful, vibrant woman. And while he is looking forward to dating Dana, but still wants to spend more time with her, since they are becoming close friends. That is something Gloria can’t deny. Eventually, the conversation turns to A.J.’s brush with danger the night before, something Zachary is shocked and angry to learn that Gloria knows nothing about.
Natalie tells Barton the primary reason she is reluctant to have children with him is because of his fractured relationship with Kevin. She says his refusal to accept that Kevin is gay, not to mention his constant criticism of him is not how a child should be treated. Barton says Kevin is just as responsible for their problematic relationship as he, but Natalie disagrees and says that until she sees some changes in the situation with Kevin, she will not want to have any children with him. Kevin, who heard the entire conversation, hides when Natalie comes out of the bedroom so no one will know he was there.
Kevin later talks to Melissa, who is trying to get Richie to come to the memorial service, but is unable to get a hold of him. The conversation turns to Eric and Kevin tells Melissa that his cousin is not good for her. Beyond the fact that Eric is a homophobe, he’s a liar, a cheat and selfish. Melissa insists that Eric isn’t perfect, but that she loves him and they have a good relationship. Kevin, who makes no bones about the fact he hates Eric because of their rocky history, says Eric will hurt her and vows to get Melissa out of the relationship. Later, while Melissa is taking a phone call from Richie, Kevin is confronted by Barton, who wants to know why Kevin was eavesdropping on his conversation with Natalie.
Quentin tells Lucas and Nigel his plan to cause problems for the Lassiters. Lucas is delighted to hear it, especially since A.J. will be primarily hurt by it. Nigel is uncomfortable with the plan, not only for Vicki and Monica’s sake, but because he wishes his father would drop this vendetta against the Lassiters. Quentin says he can’t. Quentin leaves for the office and Nigel says he’ll be in this afternoon, reminding his father he has meeting out of the office this morning. Quentin asks what those meeting are, but Nigel is vague. Quentin doesn’t press for information and leaves. Lucas wants to know what is going with his younger brother and asks for details. Nigel says he wants to talk about it and he and Lucas make arrangements to meet for lunch.
A.J. asks Jake if he really thinks Reilly and Slade will come after he and Patricia. Jake thinks they will to cover Victor Markham’s butt and wants the reporters to go into protective custody until Reilly and Slade are caught. Both A.J. and Patricia refuse, saying they can take care of themselves and that there’s no certainty that Reilly and Slade will come after them since they don’t know why Raymond Cane was murdered. Jake says they’re making a mistake refusing protection, but knows he can’t hold them. After Patricia leaves, A.J. reminds Jake he can’t in custody for days primarily because of his work proving that Nathan didn’t kill Candice. Jake insists that the right man is on trial for murder and reminds A.J. that Eric would be angry to learn that his own brother is trying to prove he made a bad bust. Eric, who overheard the exchange, agrees and wants to know if A.J. is trying to make him look like a fool.
Covington Bay--Episode 30
Zachary is about to tell Gloria about A.J.'s night of adventure when he gets a page and has to answer it. While he is gone, Glenn comes up to Gloria and tells her he received a call from her lawyer saying that that the divorce hearing has been moved up to the next day. Gloria says yes and that she can't wait to end the marriage. As usual, Glenn tries to persuade her to change her mind, but Gloria won't hear of it. She then has to leave, remembering she has to attend Alec Stone's memorial service.
Meantime, Zachary's page turns out to be Dana, who wanted to greet him with a passionate kiss. However, Zachary only has talking to Gloria on his mind and stalks off in a huff, leaving Dana frustrated. Zachary returns to where he left Gloria to find Glenn and news that Gloria has left.
In between her discussion with Zachary and Glenn, Gloria had a talk with Natalie about Barton's eagerness to have a child despite her objections. Gloria tells Natalie that Barton is a determined man who won't rest until he gets what he wants. Natalie says she has to make her husband see now is not the time to have children since she is starting a new surgical program and Barton's relationship with Kevin is so poor. Gloria agrees with Natalie's stance and tells her to stick to it.
At the Lassiter Estate, Barton accuses Kevin of listening in on his conversation with Natalie. Kevin admits he was and taunts his father on Natalie's refusal to have a baby. Barton blames Kevin and says Natalie doesn't see that it's his Kevin's fault they have such a poor relationship. Kevin accuses his father of not seeing the truth; that he can't accept Kevin as he is and that's why things are so bad between them. At one point, Barton suggests that he and Kevin could try for a real relationship, but Kevin says he knows his father would only be pretending for Natalie's sake and that his attempts would not be real. Kevin says he's glad Natalie won’t have his baby; Barton doesn't deserve another chance at fatherhood. Barton says he will get what he want and have a 'rightful heir'.
Eric accuses A.J. of trying to make him look foolish by digging into the Nathan James case. A.J. insists it's only about getting at the truth, but Eric doesn't buy it, going so far to say A.J. is jealous that Eric is a respected cop and A.J. couldn't cut it on the force. A.J. says he regrets not making being a cop a success, but loves his current job. When A.J. goes on to remind his brother that the cops have been wrong about cases before, and A.J. had caught the real criminal, it only makes Eric angrier. Eric tells A.J. to stay out of the James case or he's in big trouble. A.J. eventually has to leave after remembering he forgot to tell his mother about his adventures the previous evening.
Melissa tries to convince Richie to come to Alec's memorial service. Richie is afraid Walter wouldn't like it, but Melissa says he doesn't have to know about Richie's attendance. Richie says he'll think about it. As Melissa hangs up, Nikki, who wanted to talk to Richie, comes in. Melissa suggest Nikki try calling Richie right back and Nikki agrees.
Richie is confronted by Walter, who tells Richie he knows his son was going to testify for the defense in the Nathan James case.
Natalie gives Dana the cold shoulder because of the incident at Mama J.'s the night before.
A.J. comes to the hospital hoping to see his mother, but instead runs into Melody, who, having heard about A.J.'s brush with death is happy to see him and rushes into his arms.
