Covington Bay--Episode 71

Nikki Lassiter's date with James Greyhawk pays off when she learns Candice had a diary in which she wrote all her secrets. Nikki realizes finding that diary could be the key to solving the murder.

Dana Cooper and Zachary Dailey head to Gianelli's for their date. But first, Zachary asks Dana if she knows where her ex-husband Danny James is. Dana says no and she's telling the truth. She's just as eager for Danny to show up as anyone. Armed with the knowledge of Danny's plan to break his brother out of jail and knowing he stole drugs designed to keep Nathan in the hospital (followed by Nathan's heart attack), she plans to use the information to her own advantage.

At Gianelli's, Glenn is with his attorney Jason Prior. They are discussing plans to delay Glenn and Gloria's divorce, which Jason plans on implementing in the morning. Dana and Zachary then arrive…and Glenn is not happy to see them together.

Also at Gianelli's, Hillary and Gary discuss Derek Kendall. Gary isn't sure he should be the man's therapist considering their history. Hillary thinks he should if he wants to find out what Derek Kendall really is up to in Covington Bay. At the Covington Bay Hotel, Derek receives a visit from his sister Sarah, who thinks he should leave town and come back to Chicago with her. Derek refuses, saying that he needs to settle things with Glenn Dailey, especially in the wake of Candice's death.

At Greyhawk Manor, Melody Sorensen quickly surmises that Lucas Greyhawk is keeping something from her and that it's about A.J.. Lucas, unable to lie to Melody, tells her that he thinks Victor Gianelli may have kidnapped A.J. and Patricia and that he is going to start looking for them. Melody insists on going with him. Lucas refuses at first, but then gives in. They go to leave, but when Lucas opens the door, he and Melody are surprised to find themselves face to face with A.J. and Patricia.

Covington Bay--Episode 72

Nina is surprised when Richie shows up at the Lassiter Estate looking for Nikki. She thought he was on the boat with her and James Greyhawk, but Richie admits he was delayed by Nikki's parents and missed the boat. He is terrified something may be happening to Nikki…that James may hurt her. Nina tries to be supportive, but she's worried too. When Richie gets over emotional, Nina hugs him to give him comfort. The moment is interrupted when Harry walks in.

Meanwhile, aboard the Cassandra, Nikki is eager to start searching for Candice's diary, which could hold a clue as to who really killed her. James continues to make advances towards her, which makes Nikki uncomfortable. She wants the date to end and James agrees to take her back to the marina. When they arrive, James promises her that things are just starting between the two of them, whether she wants to admit it or not.

At Gianelli's, as Dana and Zachary enjoy their date, Glenn watches, angry they are together. Jason wonders if Glenn is so upset because Dana and Zachary are of different races, but Glenn denies that. Glenn decides to go over to Dana and Zachary to speak to them. Jason warns his employer not to do that, but Glenn isn't listening. He barges over to the table and confronts his son and his date.

At Greyhawk Manor, A.J. explains to Melody what happened with Victor Gianelli while Patricia does the same with Lucas. Melody insists A.J. call the police and let them handle it, but A.J. says he can't do that. He explains it would ruin everything and they might never find the hit-men. Melody is worrying A.J. is playing with fire, but he says he's being careful…he doesn't trust Gianelli. But what about Patricia, Melody asks, does he realize what she is up to? Melody goes onto say that Patricia is out to make their marriage real. A.J. doesn't believe it. And then Melody asks A.J. if he wants to make the marriage real too.

Elsewhere in the mansion, Lucas is intrigued by Patricia's meeting with Gianelli, so intrigued that he wants to be involved with the adventure. He wants to work with she and A.J. in the hunt for the hit-men.

Covington Bay--Episode 76

Angela Sorensen tries to convince her sister Melody Sorensen to break up with A.J. Lassiter because of his lies about his marriage to Patricia Tamakai-Lassiter and more importantly, because he will probably never marry her.  Melody refuses to give on her relationship with A.J., saying she loves him and wants to give things a chance between them. Melody hopes ultimately A.J. will realize what a good thing they have and marry her.  Angela thinks Melody is a fool, comparing her relationship with A.J. to Monica Sorensen's relationship to Eric Lassiter.  Melody insists the two are completely different, since Eric verbally abused Monica and cheated on her every chance he got.  Seeing that her sister won't change her mind, Angela decides to leave, but promises Melody she is going to do whatever she can to help her whether she wants it or not.

Eric taunts A.J. about his marriage to Patricia, but A.J. says he is in no mood to be told about his mistakes, especially from his little brother, who has made many more mistakes in his life.  The argument gets nasty and A.J. demands Eric leave.   Eric refuses and A.J. tries to throw his brother out physically.  The two get into a scuffle and start fighting.  After a few punches are thrown, A.J. knocks Eric down and Eric hits his head on a table.  A.J. is stunned by what he is done and fears he's injured his brother, especially after Eric doesn't respond to his calls.  But Eric is looking under A.J.'s table and is surprised by the listening device or rather a bug that he sees there.

Zachary Dailey finally tells his stepmother Gloria Lassiter-Dailey that is anger towards her stemmed from seeing her kiss his father, Glenn Dailey in his office the previous day.   He says he can't believe she would go back to him after all he'd done to her and that he can't support a reconciliation between the two of them.  Gloria is stunned that Zachary could believe she would even consider going back to Glenn and explains to Zachary that the kiss happened because Glenn took advantage of her during her grief over A.J.'s brief disappearance, something Zachary didn't know about.

Upon hearing the whole story about that incident, Zachary becomes enraged over his father's insensitivity and selfishness.  That, combined with his rage over Glenn's behavior during Zachary's date with Dana, spurs Zachary to go looking for his father.  Gloria, fearing the worst, goes after Zachary.

Mama Jackson and Abby Jefferson worry about Nathan's condition, which hasn't changed.  They also question where Danny James could've disappeared to.  Abby wonders if something could've happened to Danny while Mama J. fears Danny has gone off and done something foolish since she knows he capable of it.

Dana Cooper is horrified to find Danny standing in her bathroom.  As he hands her the towel, he reminds her she used to like being surprised in the shower by him, but Dana reminds him that was a long time ago.  She demands Danny leave, but he refuses, saying they have business.  Dana wants nothing to do with him, but Danny tells her to get dressed and he'll wait for her in the kitchen.

After he leaves, Dana vows that it's time to use the information she has on Danny to get rid of him.  She later goes into the kitchen.  Danny has made coffee just the way she likes it, he reminds her to her chagrin.  Dana isn't interested in chatting with Danny and tells him she knows all about his plan to bust Nathan out of jail...and that he poisoned him to keep him in the hospital, which would make escaping from custody easier, but his plan went awry because he over medicated Nathan or gave him the wrong drug.

Danny, who knows about his brother's heart attack, insists he had nothing to do with it, but does admit he planned to break Nathan out of jail.  Dana says she'll go to the police with everything if Danny doesn't get out of town.  Danny refuses.  Dana insists she'll do it, even if it means the entire town will know about their former marriage.  Danny counters by telling Dana he came by to demand she give him $10,000 to pay for Nathan's jailbreak and then he'll leave town.  Dana thinks Danny is crazy to even ask since she is holding all the cards.  But Dana learns that her hand has been trumped by Danny's.  He informs her that if she doesn't give him the money that the entire town will know that they are in fact still married.

Covington Bay--Episode 77

Zachary bursts into Glenn's office to confront him for his behavior to Gloria, but Glenn isn't there.  Gloria is relieved about that and tries to calm Zachary down.   She succeeds and convinces Zachary that it's best to just leave Glenn alone since she'll be divorced from him soon.  Zachary asks Gloria what she'll do after the divorce his over.  Gloria plans just to go on with her life...but she has no intention of getting romantically involved with anyone.  She does fear that she'll love her friendship with Zachary because of his growing relationship with Dana.   Zachary assures her that nothing will ever come between their friendship.   Zachary tells Gloria about Glenn's opposition to his dating Dana because of their difference in their races.  Gloria isn't surprised; she's always known Glenn had problems with interracial dating, which is why he refuses to believe Candice and Nathan could've been lovers.  Zachary then has to get to work and after wishing Gloria luck in getting her impending divorce, he gives her a kiss on the cheek.  Stunned by how it makes her feel, Gloria thinks back to everyone's observation that she and Zachary are dating and romantically involved.  But, she can't even consider that there could be a relationship between them.  Then, Sabrina shows up and she and Gloria leave for the courthouse.

Eric doesn't tell A.J. about the bug in his apartment and takes off for work.  He goes to the police department and tells Jake about the discovery of the bug.  Eric wants to find out who planted the bug...and how he can use it to hurt his brother.

Back at A.J.'s apartment, A.J. is stunned to get a visit from Angela.  She confronts A.J. about his marriage to Patricia, and how it is hurting Melody.  A.J. says he's aware of the pain he's caused his girlfriend and wants to work things out between them.  Angela thinks A.J. should just break up with Melody since he can't marry her.  Angela informs A.J. that Melody is holding out for marriage no matter how much A.J. says it'll never happen.  A.J. is touched by her words and after Melody leaves wonders what he should do about he and Melody.

Dana refuses to believe that she and Danny are still married, but Danny insists they are.  He tells her that he met the man who handled their divorce in prison.   Apparently he was there for practicing law without a license.  Danny goes on to tell her that unless he gives her $10,000, he'll tell everyone, including Zachary that they are still married...and that she knew it the entire time.  Enraged, Dana attacks Danny.  He grabs her to calm her down and things get heated between them.  They end up in a passionate kiss.  Dana breaks away, obviously affected by the kiss, but refusing to admit it.  The telephone rings and Dana answers it.  It's Zachary, wondering why she's late for work.  Dana, looking at Danny, tells Zachary she's got a big problem.

Covington Bay--Episode 78

Things are tense between Barton and Natalie.  Barton wants Natalie to spend more time at home (and start having children), but Natalie is still reluctant.  Barton is also upset about the fact that Adam and Margaret are coming home from Ireland.   Barton is certain Adam will want to take over in the battle against the Greyhawks and Barton wants to take care of it himself.  When Natalie accuses her husband of turning against her own father, she and Barton bicker and Natalie storms out.  Barton swears he won't let any of these problems get in the way of his having a child with his wife.

Kevin gets a visit from A.J. who tells is cousin about Angela's visit.  A.J. is staring to think that Angela could be right and he should break up with Melody for her own good, so she can find happiness.  Kevin can't believe A.J. would end things because he's not ready to get married, but A.J. reveals to Kevin that he does want to marry Melody and he always has.  Kevin is stunned and asks A.J. why he has pretended marriage wasn't for him.  A.J. confesses he has been keeping a secret from Melody...one that is going to force him to end things with her once and for all.

Nikki is thinking about her evening with James Greyhawk and is confused about James' guilt or innocence, but determined to get at the truth and she thinks finding Candice's diary is the way to do just that.  Richie calls and wants to know what happened with James, but Nikki, wanting to get out of the house and avoid her parents, tells Richie she'll talk to him about at school.  They arrange to meet, but Richie says he's going to be delayed.  When Nikki asks why, Richie is evasive.  Nikki's growing suspicions about her boyfriend continue to grow.  Nikki gets a visit from Nina, who tells her that her father has forbid her to spend time with Nikki because he considers Nikki a bad influence, mostly because Harry found Richie and Nina hugging.  Nikki tells her best friend that she won't let their friendship go without a fight, but Nina insists she has to do as her father asks.  If all that weren't bad enough, Nikki comes face to face with her parents, who want to talk to her about what happened.

Dana doesn't tell Zachary about Danny's being in her home, instead she makes up a lie about running late for work and hangs up.  Still dazed by Danny's kiss and insisting she didn't enjoy it, Dana asks Danny to get out.  But Danny insists she enjoyed the kiss...and reminds her that she owes him $10,000 or he'll tell the world they are still married and that she knew about it the whole time.  Dana agrees to come up with the money, though she has no idea how.  She kicks Danny out, but not before he tells her it will never work between she and Zachary no matter how much money he has.  Dana insists she will marry Zachary and be happy.  But, she can't forget kissing Danny.

Eric asks for Jake's help in finding out who planted the bug in A.J.'s apartment without telling A.J. about it.  Eric says it's the only way to find out what is going on since A.J. would likely shut the police out once he finds out about the bug.   Jake, feeling A.J. could be in trouble, maybe even danger, insists A.J. be told.   Besides, Jake knows Eric only wants to get some sort of evidence against his brother to use against him.  Eric denies that and refuses to say anything to A.J., but Jake says if Eric says nothing, then Jake will be forced to do it himself.   Before they can finish, Angela comes in and tells Eric and Jake that the Captain wants to see them immediately.

Covington Bay--Episode 79

Nigel catches his Monica looking through old family photos.  She is admiring her husband as a baby and hopes their child is as handsome as he is.  He too is looking forward to having a baby with her, but his thoughts of Kevin still are strong as ever.    Monica keeps getting ahead of herself in terms of getting pregnant and Nigel keeps reminding his wife that it could take a long while before that happens.  As excited as she is, she promises to try and keep her anticipation reined in.

Lucas tells Quentin that he is working with Sabrina to get evidence to free Nathan, a conversation James overhears.  He once again accuses Lucas of betraying the family since Nathan is guilty and Lucas could be letting a killer go free.  Quentin tells Lucas it was a mistake to take on the case, but because it keeps the Greyhawks involved in the Candice Dailey murder, something Quentin had hoped would be over now that Candice is dead, not because he thinks Nathan killed the girl.  In fact, unlike James, Quentin is reserving judgement on Nathan's guilt or innocence until the trial.   He admits he doesn't like Lucas involvement in the case, but respects his decision.   This only makes James more angry and he storms out in a huff.  After he's gone, Lucas asks his father some questions about Candice and James.  Quentin says he was against the relationship because the two of them were so young, even though Glenn Dailey was all for it because it would tie him to the Greyhawks.  Quentin admits he was planning on stopping the wedding, but Candice died first.  Lucas says he's concerned with James' anger over the investigation, wondering if there's more to this than it seems.

Eric, Jake and Angela meet Walter in his office, but Walter isn't there.  As they wait (and Angela and Eric snipe at one another), a messenger comes in and delivers an envelope to Eric.  Before Eric can open it, Walter comes in holding a similar envelope.  He is angry and says he knows what is in the envelope and suggests Eric open his.  He does, and Eric is horrified to see a copy of the Covington Bay Times detailing his encounter with Danny James at Mama J.'s.  The paper says Eric's attempt to arrest Danny James was racially motivated and insinuates the police department might be biased against blacks.  Walter says he's been receiving lots of phone calls about the incident and wonders how this will affect the department.  Jake doesn't believe the story and Eric denies it.  Angela points out that Dana Cooper and Danny James felt Eric was bigoted and were uncomfortable with him being on the Johnson beating case.   This only causes Eric and Angela to bicker amongst themselves.  Jake intercedes and reminds Eric about the articles in the Times about A.J..  Eric remembers that earlier that morning when he was at A.J.'s apartment, A.J. told him he was having troubles with the Greyhawks.  Deducing the Greyhawks are behind the article, Eric leaves to confront them.  Afraid Eric might do something foolish, Walter sends Angela and Jake after him.

Nikki is confronted by her parents over her playing hooky from school and later breaking her curfew.  She tries to lie her way out of it but that doesn't work.   However, they are interrupted by Barton, who's upset over the article in the Times about Eric.  Nikki uses the opportunity to take off for school where she is supposed to meet Richie.  However, when she arrives at the library, James is there and he immediately starts flirting with her.

A.J. tells Kevin his secret he's been keeping and why he must break up with Melody.   He's been holding this in ever since he left London after quitting his correspondents job.  Kevin can't believe A.J. has been hiding such a painful secret, but A.J. didn't feel as if he should tell anyone.  He doesn't plan on telling Melody, he's just going to break up with her.  He can't marry her under the circumstances of his life.  He knows if she knew the truth about him, she'd want to stay together and work it out and A.J. refuses to put her through that.  Kevin thinks A.J. is making a terrible mistake, but A.J. has made up his mind.   A.J. and Kevin are interrupted by Barton, Steven and Pamela, who are discussing how to handle the article.   A.J. is stunned to read about it; Kevin isn't surprised to hear Eric is a racist.   A.J. worries what Eric's reaction will be when he reads the article and when he finds out the Greyhawks are behind it all.

At Greyhawk Manor, the family is preparing for breakfast.  Everyone goes in to eat, but when the doorbell rings, Nigel goes to answer it.  It's Eric in a rage and demanding the truth.
